Easter message

The message of Easter is one of rebirth and resurrection, so there’s no reason, in between scoffing chocolate eggs, putting on your slippers and being thankful for a few days off work, you shouldn’t take that idea a bit literally. One of the easiest ways to reinvent yourself, albeit on a very small scale, is to immerse yourself in the unfamiliar. New places, tastes, sights and sounds. Think of it as an Easter egg hunt, the kind your folks used to make for you when you were a kid. It was fun, remember? You’d do laps of the backyard, searching for glints of garishly coloured foil underneath the daisy bush and the outdoor chairs. Once your pockets were full, you’d collapse under a tree and eat the lot in one go. So here’s another kind of hunt. Rather than the backyard you have the Cartell catalogue at your fingertips, and instead of peeling back pink foil you can peel layers of music. From the hypnotic, elsewhere wanderings of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Michael Brook and the easy melodies of Paco Volume to the sharper, rockier edges of Mickey 3D and the always sunny and seductive poetry of Aline De lima, there’s plenty to fill your pockets with. Take your time. There are no siblings around to steal the caramel rabbits. Go on, kick your slippers off and have a dance around the living room.
